Penang and Kuala Lumpur Trip Day 2 (19/12)

Alright. On the second day, we woke up on time as we planned. Our plan today is going to Queensbay Mall which is located in the suburb Bayan Lepas, Penang. It is quite a well known mall in Penang. Our taxi ride to Queensbay Mall took about 30 minutes from our hotel at Gurney Drive
Exterior View of Queensbay Mall

Penang Bridge view from Queensbay Mall
Queensbay Mall has about 4 levels but its a very long shopping complex. That makes it big enough. If anyone one of you had been to One Utama shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, you should know what I mean. So we had breakfast at a cafe called "Dome" in the complex. I had Nasi Lemak and it was nice and a big plate.

Dome Nasi Lemak
We spent about half a day just shopping at Queensbay Mall. After that, we hired a taxi and went to Prangin Mall. We heard that it was grand, but it turned up to be a low class shopping mall like Sungei Wang in Kuala Lumpur, but it is really huge with 7 levels. We didn't spend a lot of time at Prangin Mall so we went back to the hotel after that.

That evening(not night), we walked to Gurney Drive food stalls again and tried some Rojak, Fried Oyster and Wan Than Mee from other stalls. All tasted not bad but not good too.

For me, I like the lifestyle in Penang...very cool and calm. After dinner we packed and prepared for our flight to Kuala Lumpur the next day. Thats all for day 2.

Penang and Kuala Lumpur Trip Day 1 (18/12)

5 30 am my alarm sounded and I woke up reluctantly and got washed up. Well, I feel happy as it is the starting point of my 7 days 6 nights trip to Penang and Kuala Lumpur. There used to be direct flights from Kuching to Penang but there isn't now so we need to go through Kuala Lumpur. Our flight to Kuala Lumpur departs at 8 10 am. We had breakfast at Mc Donalds in Kuching International Airport. I tried the egg and beef muffin and it tasted normal.

Breakfast at McDonalds

We reached our boarding gate and it was still raining quite heavily so I prayed that it will be a smooth flight. We took of from Runway 07 smoothly and on time. It was counted as a pleasant climb as it was very couldy and raining. It was a windy day in Kuala Lumpur so we experienced some turbulance just before touched down. We touched down in Kuala Lumpur International Airport Runway 32L at about 10 50 am and the Boeing 737-400 slowly taxied into gate A6 at the main terminal.

Landed at KLIA
Just when we stepped into the terminal buiding, we spotted an information screen and we checked our connecting flight to Penang and we found out that MH 1142 bound for Penang had been delayed for 3 hours. Oh dear... 3 hours. So we just stroll around at the KLIA until 2 40pm. Wasted 3 hours...Finally, we boarded the Boeing 737-400 on MH1142 at gate B2.

The Boeing 737-300 Aircraft as Flight MH1142 to Penang

The flight to Penang was quite smooth besides some turbulance upon take off. We also known that the plane we boarded was a spare plane as the original one had some problems. It was a hot day and we touched down at Penang International Airport at about 40 minutes after take off. It was an old airport. The color is old... the style is old...everything is old haha.

Welcome to Penang International Airport

Okay I don't want to waste time. After checking in to our hotel, G Hotel, we walked to the shopping mall next to our hotel which is Gurney Plaza. It is one of the major shopping mall in Penang. First, we went for dinner at a Taiwanese Restaurant in the basement of the mall. I ordered Char Siew Noodles and it tasted nice.

Char Siew Mee
We had a walked at the Gurney Plaza and went to the famous Gurney Drive hawker stalls at night. It is famous for the food there but I don't really enjoy the food. Maybe just not my taste.
The hawker centre was so crowded that we had to squeezed our way through and was lucky to get a seat. We ordered Fried Oyster, Rojak and a plate of Penang Char Koay Teow. We didn't like any of them. Maybe it is because we ordered from the wrong stalls as there were hundreds of stalls there.

We all slept well that night as we were all tired after flying. Haha. Thats all for day 1. To be continued.....
Bye for now and God Bless You

Finally back to Bintulu

Hi guys. I just drove back from Kuching with my Dad yesterday. Well, my trip to Penang and Kuala Lumpur was fun and I enjoyed it very much. I will post the details of my trip later.

Singapore Day 4 (30 November 2008)

After breakfast, we went to our hotel concierge and asked about Tanglin Medical Centre but we were told that it should be closed because it was a Sunday. The concierge recommended us to go to the Mount Elizabeth Hospital jus a few blocks down. When I heard that, I thought "Woh! Really so serious meh? No eh!". It was a first time I visited a hospital actually so a feeling a little bit nervous is normal right?(DUN LAUGH AT ME)^^. We found out that the doctors are all not working on Sunday, so I need to go to the Accident and Emergency section. "WOW! Really so serious ah!!! No la just a checkup." The consultation was fast and I was okay, just a lot of phlame that causes shortness of breath. So I finally got a piece of mind. Praise God.

Hospital Lobby
In A and E checking up

After checking up, we walked to OG which is in walking distance from the hospital. I bought 2 T-shirts and a belt. Shopping at OG was nice and the sales assistants are all very friendly with Singaporean "slang". Haha. We went to a cafeteria in OG after shopping and ordered a sandwich and Singapore's famous "otak-otak". Damn delicious.....Yummy...ICIBAN! That afternoon, we took a taxi to Parkway Parade Shopping Mall in the suburb of Singapore. It was a really big shopping mall man. A lot of techy things too. Upon arrival, we went to the underground food court to have lunch. I had Thai Style Chicken Rice and a bowl of Mango Ice Kacang(Kuching punya lebih sedap). The rice was really nice.. never tasted something like that before. If there was an egg it would be nicer but I had nose allergy that time so better avoid eggs.

Mango Ice Kacang

We shopped at Parkway Parade until quite late so we went for dinner quite late too. We just strolled around Orchard Road and we found a restaurant called Jade Kitchen inside Shaw Plaza. The food was chinese food and were delicous too as usual. I just love the salted egg prawns.
Salted Egg Prawns
That was the last time I see the night decoration of Orchard Road. I really didn't want to go home at that time as time passes so fast.

Singapore Day 3 (29 November 2008)

Its the third day through my trip. I still felt that I just arrived at the Changi Airport. We went to Clarke Quey, which is located near Boat Quey at the Singapore River. We targeted 2 shopping Malls, Central and Liang Court which is said to be fully renovated according to our hotel concierge(Kumar - a very nice guy). We, as usual hired a cab and went there. The journey was fast as in Singapore, you cannot go far. Central was a small mall but it is easy to get lost as there were a lot of curves and turns. We had our morning tea break there. 2 Sing Dollars per set and you'll get, 2 butter toast, a cup of coffe/tea and 2 soft boiled eggs. Quite nice.

Liang Court Kopitiam

After having the tea break, we walked over to Liang Court which is walking distance of course, we also enjoyed the view along the river (was very hot though).

Colourful Liang Court)

Liang Court was very new indeed. There were many Japanese Restaurants and a Japanese Supermarket inside. Well, the place that attracts me the most is the Audio House on the forth floor. It is a large IT store and I enjoyed looking at techy stuff inside. It was so cool. We bought some teriyaki chicken from the supermarket back to our hotel. The chicken tasted great and I love it very much. Hahaha! Greedy me.
Enjoying the Chicken(I usually don't let people see me like tis...xD!)
That night, we walked along Orchard Road as usual. We walked until the end of Orchard Road to get to Plaza Singapura, an enormous shopping complex. I still remember the last time I went to Plaza Singapura was when I was in Primary Six. Time passes so fast.......... 3 years had pass. I had fried rice with beef for dinner at a stall inside Plaza Singapura. Not bad. The Dim Sum was delicious too. Like I said, everything is nice in Singapore(no halal can order pork). That very night, i woke up in the middle of the night and felt very hard to breathe and I'm very worried, partly cause by psycological effect too. So I sat on the couch and prayed hard. We planned to see a doctor the next day. To be continued.....................
Bye for now and God Bless You.

Blood Test

Welcome to The Public Journal once again. I just came back from a blood test at Parkcity. It is the first time in my life I have a blood test so Im a bit anxious and excited. My veins were hard to find so the nurse spent approximately 15 minutes to find my veins as it is hard to find. Then finally the nurse took the needle syringe and did the job perfectly. A little bit of pain is unavoidale. Just after I stand up and walk....WHAO!!!!! Just feel like I want to faint...eyes become blurr..... cannot hear clearly and want to vomit...Haha but I'm okay after a few minutes and went for breakfast. That's all.

Bye for now and God Bless You.

Singapore Day 2 (28 November 2008)

On the second day, we went to Boat Quey, which is a part of the Singapore River. The view was awesome and we enjoyed very much although we need to walk a lot. I still feel hard to breathe when walking for a distance. Below are some photos taken at Boat Quey.

After visiting Boat Quey, we walked along a bridge to Suntec City shopping centre. We really enjoyed the walk because of the fascinating scenery. I've seen this bridge a lot of times on Singaporean shows, but it is the first time I walk on it. But one thing I don't like about walks in Singapre is the air pollution. Too poluted until our sweat is sticked with black and grey dust.

Bridge

Suntec City was big and we had lunch at the food court. The Hainaniese Chicken Rice was very nice and appetising. No way to compare it to Malaysia's Chicken Rice.

Suntec City

Father and Son
HAHA!! I also went shopping at Suntec City. The second floor is my best floor because the whole floor is about IT. I tried to look for PSP Games but all are original as expected. Singapore - NO PIRATED COPIES. Haha. The taxi queue was short but it was hard to get a taxi as MRT is available at Suntec City. So finally we got a taxi back to our hotel. That night, we walked along Orchard road as usual and had dinner at a noodle shop in Plaza Singapura. The fishball noodle was very delicious. You can say that food in Singapore are all nice(but expensive).

Fishball Noodles
On our way back to the hotel that night, we bought some fishballs and satays at the famous Old Chang Kee's stall. Iciban as well. Hahaha. Thats all for day 2. To be continued.......

Day Trip to Sarikei (Tyre Puncture)

Hello guys I woke up at 7am this morning to go for a wedding lunch of my relative in Sarikei. My Dad and I fetched my aunt and drove to Sarikei. We reached Sarikei at about 12 15pm and went for the wedding lunch. Now, the interesting part of this journey is on our journey back to Bintulu. Here we go. When we just left Sibu for Bintulu, due to the bad condition of the road(potholes+rain), we heard a little noise from the rear end of the car as we went through a pothole. We thought that it was some noise of stones so we ignored it. Haha. After driving for an hour and we started to reach speed 150km/h, we heard "glump, glump, glup" coming from the rear tyre. So, we stopped at a roadside and my Dad went to check and he said "Ah Pu!! Punctured liao". Wow, i was just surprised. So, my Dad, my big cousin work together to change the tyre as me and my aunt jus watch and helped a bit. Luckily there is a little pondok nearby as it was raining.

After approximately 20 minutes, all work was done and we continued our journey back. In the car, we were able to smell the burnt rubber from the tyre. Haha. Okay, Im going to work on my Singapore trip detail. Be sure to come back in an hour!

Bye for now and God Bless You.

Singapore Day 1 (27 November 2008)

I woke up the earliest to prepare because my parents slept very late the previous night. This is the first day my nose allergy starts and make me feel hard to breathe. Its not really that serious so I ignored it. We went to the airport at 9 30 am to catch our flight to Singapore. After checking in, we went to the McDonalds cafeteria at the airport. Finally, we took off from Kuching International Airport at 11 10am. The flight to Singapore was quite smooth without any turbulance due the good weather God grant us. The food was not bad too. I chose pasta. Still not as good as my mom's pasta. We landed at Singapore Changi International Airport at about 1230pm.
Imegressions went well and we catched a cab to our hotel, Orchard Hotel. The room was very clean though very small. After checking in, we went to the Singapore Flyer (the world's largest and tallest observation wheel) at Marina Parade. The fee for an adult is about 30 Sing Dollars. The view out of the flyer was very good. We were able to see Singapore, islands of Indonesia and Malaysia.. I took a couple of photos. Hope that you will enjoy.

The flyer journet took 30 minutes and we went for lunch after that at a cafe near the flyer. The food was not bad but not nice either. I hurt my upper layer of my mouth because I ate a curry potato while it was still hot. Haha.....

In the afternoon, we walked to Marina Square from the Singapore Flyer. It only took 5 minutes. Marina Square is a big shopping mall located at Marine Parade, we spent some time there and we took a taxi back to the hotel. That night, we walked along Orchard Road to find a place for dinner. Orchard road at night was beautiful and full with Christmas decoration. At last, we found this Food Republic in Wisma Artria Shopping Mall. The people inside the Food Republic was so many that we have to squeze our way through. I ordered the famous Bak Chork Mee (Miced Pork Noodle) and it tasted great. ICIBAN!! The beef noodle my dad ordered was nice too. Haha, Singapore.. land of thousand smiles...more like land of thousand food.

That night before I went to bed, I felt quite hard to breathe so I tried on my dad's magnectic necklace (a necklace for health) and it helped a lot so I slept easily. Thats all for the first day.
Bye for now and God Bless You

Back to Bintulu

Hello guys, I just got back to Bintulu for a blood test and some body checkups. I also came back from my trip to Singapore 2 days ago. If I say i really enjoyed it very much, I'm lying because I got sick and I felt hard to breathe. So on the last day I went to the Mount Elizabeth Hospital near my hotel for a checkup, the Resident Medical Officer there said that I am perfectly okay, just a bit of phlame in my throat so no problem. I will be updating detail on the trip. Stay tuned^^.
Bye for now and God Bless You
